Changing Our Kids' Lives Through Music!
(MLSE, Inc.)
MLSE, Inc. is a Not-for-Profit organization registered under the 501(c)(3) Internal Revenue Service Code, based in Norman, Oklahoma. MLSE, Inc. is also registered on Duns & Bradstreet.
MLSE, Inc. has a goal of changing the landscape of Oklahoma children through the gift of music.
MLSE, Inc. is grounded in the belief that we must provide hope, dignity, and life to all the precious children of the world.
"Through our love we will give all we can and if that is not enough we will give even more by sharing the greatest gift of all…
the blessed gift of music!"
The concept of MLSE, Inc. came when founder, Roger Pittman lost his oldest daughter, Lacy Marie Pittman, at age 17 in a car accident.
Roger says "She has been my motivation, my desire, and my drive to make this happen. Boy, could the girl play the drums!"
Roger also draws on strength from seeing firsthand what comes when teens make poor life choices.
"I have watched my other daughter,
Chyna Faith get involved with gang affiliation, drugs and alcohol. I have
witnessed first hand the damage she and others have done to themselves."
Roger says "MY children ARE my PASSION and the
DESIRE I have to help our kids and change their lives through music!"
The following are the three MLSE, Inc.
Cherishe (Children with Hope Everlasting and Riches in Sharing Heaven on Earth)
programs/goals:
1) CHERISHe CHILDREN will provide music to children with cancer/leukemia,
Autism/Asperger's children, and other disabilities (e.g. learning disabilities).
CHERISHe CHILDREN consists of two phases:
1a) A more structured rehabilitative and
occupational therapy providing music therapy to children in hildren's
hospitals/disability centers.
1b) Allows children to have fun and to forget their problems and hardships for a
while. We encourage the families, especially if displaced to join in so that
this can be a fun, loving, and bonding time for them. We will make funny
CD's/DVD's are whatever the kids want to do (free of course!) so that the family
can have them for memories!
2) CHERISHe YOUTH will give children who are Youth at Risk, neglected and
abused, parents that have an addiction and kids that are a potential harm to the
community and themselves a chance to have an alternative to the unfortunate
choices and sometimes things beyond their control that occur.
2a) The goal of CHERISHe YOUTH is to build a recording studio/music school where
we can utilize music as an alternative to jails, community service, out on the
streets aimlessly looking for what they consider "family."
2b) CHERISHe YOUTH seeks to encourage Youth at Risk through love, provide
dignity as well as teach them a "trade" of using music to take their life into a
positive direction.
3) CHERISHe STUDENT is the third program. This program is based on the No Child
Left Behind Act premise. There are schools (private and public) who get their
music programs budget cuts and music is not available to some students.
3a) CHERISHe STUDENT seeks to not only provide a music education/background to
these individual students but to the schools who do not have music programs.
3b) CHERISHe STUDENT seeks to provide the ability to audio/video record music
programs (choral, band, theatrical, etc.) as a free or donation-based service
only. The goal is to help and touch the inner city schools in any way possible.
